Yes, she did it again: Daryl Hannah shows off her new biodiesel El Camino
Auto Blog: Biodiesel , Green Daily Click above and scroll down to watch the video If you love something, do it again. After Daryl Hannah sold her first biodiesel El Camino for $15,600 a year ago, she said she would convert the Trans Am she drove in “Kill Bill” to electric power . That never happened, and at the recently-concluded National Biodiesel Conference & Expo, Hannah showed off her new ride: another biodiesel El Camino. Hannah says that her new ride (same as the old ride) only drinks sustainable biodiesel. This makes sense for many reasons, including that she is a big supporter of the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance and that new sustainable biodiesel standards were announced at the Expo. You can see Hannah show off her car as part of the Expo’s Biodiesel Vehicle Showcase in a video after the jump, but be warned that the audio is less than pleasing. Sustainable biodiesel summit takes place this weekend in San Francisco
Auto Blog: Biodiesel Coming to you live, for one weekend only, it’s the fabulous Sustainable Biodiesel Summit, which is about what you probably think it’s about. This year’s Sustainable Biodiesel Summit will blend the sustainability message with a local one. The official theme is, “Localize It! Celebrating Community Scale Biodiesel.” Activists Annie Nelson and Darryl Hannah will be on hand to talk to producers and leaders in the biodiesel industry. Two years ago, the SBS was held in Texas ; last year in Florida . As in previous years, the SBS is followed by the National Biodiesel Conference and Expo, put on by the National Biodiesel Board. One of these years, it’d be nice to be a part of these events, but we’ll just need to rely on reports coming from SF over the weekend. Anyone attending?
